Taking all the credit they'll give me...

I've decided that, indeed, I need a Japanese credit card. But, from all sources, it seems a slightly tricky and difficult task from us gaijin to get one. So I'm doubling my chances and have applied for 2: One from Softbank, where I got my cellphone, which I went back to the store and had the english speaking help fill out the application for me. And 2. Amazon.co.jp, which after doing some research seems like the cheapest place for me to buy appliances/electronics from. So, it seems that for furnishing new apartments, I'll buy TV, refrigerator, toaster over/microwave (they have combo things for like $100), vacuum, and washing machine from amazon.co.jp since they have free shipping (and low prices). If I use the amazon.co.jp credit card I get 10% back in points good for further puchases, which I'm sure to use later. As for furniture, I think Ikea is still the best bet, although amazon had a few things, it wasn't a very good selection. I think I can furnish the place for around $2000, not including the television which I want to splurge on and get a Toshiba Regza H3000. It comes with a HDD recorder, which is awesome.
