Well, yesterday I met Akio for lunch and apartment searching. Though I emailed places on Monday, none of them have responded, so I just decided to go show up at the fudoyasan in Shibuya that was in charge of the apartment I mentioned before right in front of campus. After chatting for a bit about who I was, off we went to see the place.
Well, the rooms are small, to be sure, but they are completely new and the building is very modern. And the bathrooms are a decent size as well. The biggest of the 3 apartments I saw was definitely the nicest (room 302), and frankly I'm not one to ponder things for too long, so I basically desided on the spot to take it.
After showing Akio my office we went back to Shibuya and filled out a lease application. Dr. Kazama needed to sign it, however, so I got him to sign it today and we faxed it back to the fudoyasan, who should contact me in 3-4 days to come back and sign the lease.
It's not too bad per month, less than $1000, but there is 2 months rei-kin and 2 months deposite plus the 1 months real estate agent fee, so I need to come up with about $6000 up front. Donations are always welcome :).
